9/11 Fire Fighter’s Memorial Climb

At the 2017 FDIC we did the Fire Fighter’s Memorial Climb fund raiser for the National Fallen Firefighter’s Foundation.  It was a 110 story climb (2200 steps) up Lucus Oil stadium.  At ‘Floor 78’ I rang the bell for Michael Montesi whose badge I was carrying.  Past floor 78, no one came back alive, including Michael.  Those last 32 stories were hard, knowing that we were where the 343 fire fighter’s died.  I climbed with ladders from Putnam, stations from German Township, Lafayette, and White county, and many many more all over the 4th District.  Many of the Firemen with me were in full turn out gear, they were amazing.  My respect for these men and women is unbounded.
